SBIR Support Services
The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program is a highly competitive program that encourages domestic small businesses to engage in Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) that has the potential for commercialization. UARF provides information sessions that overview SBIR basics including, recent policy changes, provide advice on finding the right SBIR solicitation for your company, teach how to prepare components of a proposal for maximum impact, hear from recent SBIR awardees, and allow companies to meet one-on-one with an advisor to discuss their technology and proposal idea. This student-run fund conducts due diligence and invests up to $25,000 per company in Northeast Ohio tech-based startups (startups need not be run by students). Since 2012, NEOSVF has invested $305,000 in 13 companies, which have raised $7 million in follow-on funding and created 81 jobs. |
