Rachel WasikEntrepreneurial Program Intern
Rachel will complete her bachelor’s degree at the University of Akron in Spring 2024. She is studying mechanical engineering with a minor in computer science. She has prior work experience in research and development (R&D), as well as manufacturing. Outside of school and work, she enjoys hiking and baking. |
Maximilian Silvia
Legal Intern Maximilian was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and studied chemistry at the University of Colorado, Boulder. After undergrad he worked at a pharmaceutical company for five years until deciding to leave the lab to pursue a career in law. Maximilian is currently an Akron Law 2L hoping to focus his career on IP litigation after graduation. |
Anna Radachy
Program and Data intern Anna worked alongside with our program coordinators to help with running our I-Corps program in 2020 for almost two years. She would guide teams through sessions, conduct market research and customer interviews, both are part of our I-Corps program, and heard about dozens of new start-up ideas. |
Isioma Okenimkpe
Event Planning and Innovation Research During her year internship at UARF, Isioma coordinate events specifically to help entrepreneurs with common issues they encounter as they build their business in 2019. Though once the pandemic hit, she quickly pivoted he focus to innovations of Akron and helped startups when they needed it. Brett Nola
Brett hopes to use his law degree and experience at UARF to find a career in transactional legal and business work. For the past year Brett has assisted startups with legal support, the due diligence process, and organizing and providing feedback for the I-Corps program. UARF has helped him develop numerous legal skills, including reviewing and drafting agreements. In addition, he has learned what it really takes to start a business and how to make that process be as efficient as possible.

Alizeh KhalifaSince working with UARF, Alizeh has gotten experience in handling social media, creating the new UARF webpage, and making different marketing content such as flyers and videos. Being able to improve her editing and networking skills are some of the major benefits Alizeh has gained through interning here. Alizeh says her best experience was gaining another internship with the Northeast Ohio Student Venture and it is through both these internships that she has had the chance to work with various startups in the Akron area.

Courtney KlingenbergerCourtney started with UARF and worked on updating the website; assisting UARF programming such as Starting Line, ArchAngels, and I-Corps; and directly serving Akron-area startup companies. This will give Courtney valuable experience in business development and startup company support tasks, which will prove useful as Courtney completes her degree. Other than entrepreneurship, Courtney loves travel and her three rescue dogs. She spent winter break journeying through China and hopes to train her chihuahua Lily to accompany her on the next adventure.
